Speech Therapy can offer children with special needs the opportunity to improve their ability to communicate with family and friends as well as in the community. Speech Therapy focuses on improving the child’s ability to participate in daily activities and routines in their home, school and community by addressing communication difficulties. SLPs and SLPAs address articulation (speech sounds), voice, fluency (stuttering), vocabulary, grammar, social use of language (pragmatics) and AAC.
Our SLPs will perform evaluations of current skills, plan and implement treatment strategies to help support your child gain developmentally appropriate skills as well as identify assistive communication devices to help create solutions for barriers that limit interaction with their environment and peers in family, learning and community-based activities. Through collaboration and skilled techniques, the Speech Language Pathologists and Speech Language Pathology Assistants work to ensure the child is functioning at his or her highest potential while creating a fun environment for growth and development.
